Question 18

How does running with a group shape the race?

The current release cannot establish who was physically running together.

How we measured it. Chip elapsed times do not establish physical proximity when runners start in different waves. Absolute checkpoint times and individual start offsets are needed to compare group continuity and race outcomes.

Measure: Pace consistency, surges, group continuity, and finish outcomes.

Compare: Runners who stay with a group, join or leave one, or run without a sustained group, at comparable ability and course positions.

Data needed: Absolute checkpoint timestamps and start offsets. Similar chip elapsed times do not establish physical proximity.
